Team Urban Siege Presents the New Site!

TeamUrbanSiege.com has been totally revamped! The entire site has been converted from static .html pages to .php pages, allowing for dynamic generation of the pages. While this makes no difference for the bulk of the pages, it has allowed us to condense the launch logs and news blurbs into one cohesive, pseudo-blog. This blog generates the pages of news on its own, removing the need for manual editing and recoding of 2-3 pages every time we post a news update. Visitors to this site may have noticed that we have been very inconsistent in posting news, and a large part of the reason for that was the length of time it took to post such updates. No more. Perhaps now we will post updates more often.
This update also coincided with a restructuring of the site, mostly under the hood where it is not too noticable. The template was tweaked as well during the update so that the side navigation is clearer. The styles information on the site was a complete mess, and was completely reworked and just about every style is now properly included in the .css file, as opposed to strewn throughout the pages. A fair amount of work went into this update, hence the long time without updates. We originally intended to roll out the new site back in June, but that did not happen as we had to rewrite the blog script a few times until it worked as desired. It's not perfect script and still needs tweaking, but it works and it is high time that we rolled out the update.
The pages have been updated to be W3C Compliant, they were mostly before, but are completely so now. The Floatbox styles have a couple validity issues, and we will track down the problem there at a later date. A page has also been added about the evolution of this website and how it has been maintained over the years.
Floatbox was also brought up-to-date, as we were running version 2.4, but we are now up to the most recent version, 3.53, which is a much nicer version. Some more little tweaks to the site will be occurring over the next several weeks, but nothing as major as this last update. News on Medieval Postal Service and the upcoming 2009 Punkin' Chunkin' will be coming soon.
