Our Machines
North American Sliding Axle Whipper (NASAW) Trebuchet
The World-Class Competitive trebuchet that Team Urban Siege debuted in 2011, shooting a 9-pound pumpkin 2316.17 feet! This trebuchet is the first of its kind built at such a scale in the world.
Medieval Postal Service
Our first competition-level trebuchet, a Floating Axle King Arthur style that can carry 600+ pounds in counterweight and throw 8-10 pound pumpkins over 1300 feet.
Mini-NASAW
Standing 4 foot high at the axle and packing a counterweight up to 150 pounds, this is a smaller version of our World Champion trebuchet NASAW.
Janus Trebuchet
Janus is a 5-foot arm Rolling Axle Whipper (RAW) that can carry up to 200 pounds of counterweight. It also has the potential to be fired as a Floating Axle King Arthur Trebuchet.
Jeckyl and Hyde Hybrid
This trebuchet stands 5 foot tall, carries up to a 100 pound counterweight, and can fire as either a King Arthur or a Whipper.
Melon Felon Trebuchet
Standing 4 foot high at the axle and packing a counterweight up to 300 pounds, this classic trebuchet is quite powerful for its size.
Events and Competitions
2007 WCPC
The 2007 World Championships of Punkin' Chunkin', held for the first time in Bridgeville, Delaware, after more than 20 years in Millsboro, Delaware. Matt went down to scout for our future entry.
2008 WCPC
The 2008 World Championships of Punkin' Chunkin', held in Bridgeville, Delaware, from October 31-November 2. We brought Medieval Postal Service down to compete for the first time.
2009 WCPC
The 2009 World Championships of Punkin' Chunkin', held in Bridgeville, Delaware, from November 6 - 8. We brought Medieval Postal Service down to compete again, in a very strong year for trebuchets.
2010 WCPC
The 2010 World Championships of Punkin' Chunkin', held in Bridgeville, Delaware, from November 5 - 7. We brought Medieval Postal Service down to compete again, and had a great year.
2011 WCPC
The 2011 World Championships of Punkin' Chunkin', held in Bridgeville, Delaware, from November 4 - 6. We brought our new machine NASAW and had an amazing year.
2012 WCPC
The 2012 World Championships of Punkin' Chunkin', held in Bridgeville, Delaware, from November 2 - 4. We WON the Adult Trebuchet division with NASAW.
2013 WCPC
The 2013 World Championships of Punkin' Chunkin', held in Bridgeville, Delaware, from November 1 - 3. A disappointing year for NASAW, but a great year for chunkin in general with many new World Records!
2015 Extreme Chunkin
The 2015 Extreme Chunkin event, held on October 24 & 25, 2015 at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway. With the big event in Delaware once again cancelled, we hurried up to New Hampshire to compete with lots of our friends from Delaware, and there was even a World Record shot by one team!
2016 Extreme Chunkin
The 2016 Extreme Chunkin event, held on October 15 & 16, 2016 at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway. This was the second year for this hurling event, and it grew from the first year, with bigger crowds, new machines, and longer shots! We did not bring NASAW this year, but Matt was there to observe.
2016 WCPC
The 2016 World Championships of Punkin' Chunkin', held in Bridgeville, Delaware, and back after a 2-year absence!
2018 Punkin Chunkn Colorado
The 2018 Punkin Chunkin Colorado, the largest chunk of 2018. This event saw a new sanctioned event World Record shot by Team Ethos (torsion) of 3779'!
2018 Dayton
The 2018 Dayton Punkin Chunk held in Dayton, Ohio. This was our first time attending this event.
2019 WCPC
The 2019 World Championships of Punkin Chunkin, held in Rantoul, Illinois. This was the first time for the event being held outside the state of Delaware. We brought NASAW and the Buffalo Wing Slinger.
